I recently stayed at a charming colonial-style hostal in Lima and had a pleasant experience. The location was great, just a few blocks from the ocean, and I enjoyed taking leisurely walks along the coast. Even though the rooms were small, I appreciated having my own bathroom with hot water for the shower. The staff at the reception were friendly and spoke English fluently, which made communication easier. They even arranged for an early morning taxi pick-up from the airport, which was very convenient. Despite being an older building, the hostal had a certain charm with its high ceilings and decent breakfast served each morning. I would recommend this hostal for its location and comfortable amenities.

As a light sleeper, I loved the peaceful ambiance of the establishment. the soundproof rooms ensured a good night's sleep.
Felt right at home, didn't have any complaints.

There was no water on the first night and the hotel staff didn't do much to overcome the problem: they simply told us they couldn't do anything. The room had also a strong mold smell.

Nice staff and good breakfast. It was not far from La Pampilla. The airport is 12 miles away. The room we booked was very clean.

We got great value for our money at Casa Porta. The room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The location was excellent, felt quiet and safe, and the staff was helpful and friendly.
The breakfast selection could have been better, maybe more variety.

The location of the hotel is very good, and it's the best value for money we found in Lima. The street is quiet, so you won't sugger of noise. Basically the hotel is like an old fashion house with nice rooms, and quiet atmosphere. There are no luxuries, but we were not after these in the first place, but rather value.

the location is the plus - it's located in Miraflores (a very nice neighborhood in Lima), and it's very close to the beach and city center. from the hotel you can walk almost all main attractions in Miraflores.
the internet access at the hotel is very slow.

The room I stayed in at Casa Porta was cozy and had a charming atmosphere. The shower pressure was excellent and the hotel provided earplugs for the occasional noise. The location was convenient, within walking distance to Larcomar and the main shopping area. The breakfast included was basic but abundant, and the staff was friendly. I had a pleasant stay at this budget-friendly hotel and would recommend it to others.

A basic accommodation that delivers what one expects for the money. The location is excellent - only minutes from the restaurants etc and the sea side strip. If you keep to the small cafes etc in the side streets prices are only 30% of the more touristic places. The Hostal has free WiFi and internet computer also in the lounge. Not related to this hostal, but at the main Peruvian burger chain on the sea side shopping centre be careful of staff giving fake bank notes in your change!

It's close to the beach.
About 15 min walk to the center...a bit far. There are other hotels closer to the center that are cheaper and newer.

Great location in Miraflores. The hostel is inexpensive and close to the beach and Larcomar, a fantastic oceanfront mall. The staff is helpful and friendly, always pointing us in the right direction. The breakfast, though basic, was good and they even prepared a lunch package for us when we had to leave early in the morning. The neighborhood is nice, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

The decoration has a familiar touch.
My sheets were dirty the first night, which to me is unforgivable.

Amazing location in a safe and quiet street, within walking distance of the city center and the seaside. Lots of food options nearby. Well-equipped room with a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff who offered assistance with tour organization and airport transfers.
Felt warmly welcomed, no complaints.
